I really love this time of year here in the high mountain valleys of Colorado. The air is a little crisper, and nature begins her yearly ritual of change. I especially love it because it means that Halloween is coming!! As a little girl, we had neighbors that decorated for Halloween every year. I especially remember the year they dressed up like the characters from "The Addams Family". Every member of their family was included in the fun. I have tried to do the same thing for the kids in our town. We've had haunted houses, tunnels of terror aand always a cemetary. This year I've found some really cute things for a "Haunted Dinner".
I started with black table linens, black chargers and Lemongrass and Heather Fiesta. My inspiration is the witches hat as my centerpiece. The black plates with the eyes are Fitz and Floyd "Bones". I found those at "The Quilted Bear" in SLC. The white plates come from the Dollar Tree. I loved them when I saw them. I think they are really versatile and of course, they only cost $1.00!!!
I found the skulls at Dollar Tree too. My hurricanes are made from parts found at-Dollar Tree! That cute "Beware" sign came from Hobby Lobby. Orange votives and napkins tied with orange ribbon complete the table. I think when I set this table again I will use a purple cloth. What do you think?
I hope you are getting ready for a fun fall. I've been absent from this party for the last several weeks. So many things seem to come together at this time of the year, the most important one being the wedding of our youngest son to beautiful Erin.
Susan-you're such a dear to host this delightful party. Each and everyone of you continue to inspire me each week. Thank you to everyone who has left a comment. I appreciate your sweet words and kind thoughts. Please remember to link back to "Tablescape Thursday" by clicking the button to your right. See you next week!!

A fun, cute table! I loved those DT plates too, knew they'd be great for Halloween:@)
ReplyDeleteI, too, am all about the Halloween. I can't wait to do some Halloween tables, I have collected all sorts of dinnerware and glassware. I put on a "barely scary" haunted house with my youth group each year, including a life size coffin. You should have heard the kids at the bus stop the first year I put it in the yard!
ReplyDeleteYour table is amazing. I can see I will have to make a trip to the dollar tree. I would love to see it with a purple tablecloth - just to compare. I am thinking about putting spider web over my black cloth - just thinking . . . Cool Table!
What a fun table! I have need to scrounge around in my Halloween stuff and find some things to pull together soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun table...love the plate with the eyes!
ReplyDeleteI also love the Halloween table -- especially the witch hat and sign. Your fiestaware is also beautiful too. Joni
ReplyDeleteLove your Halloween Table!! The skulls in the glasses are classic! Hope you received the Halloween banner and that you love it.

We have always been big on Halloween too. We always dress up and scare the kiddies. My neighbors think I love it better than Christmas - not! But we do have fun. Love Quilted Bear and Hobby Lobby. We are getting a Hobby Lobby in Orem, can't wait. What a fun table.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great "neighbor lady" you are! I know the children in your neighborhood appreciate your efforts! What darling plates! If you do try this table with a purple cloth, you'll have to show us!
ReplyDeleteThe skulls in the glass vase are great!!! Wonderfully fun idea!
ReplyDeleteI think that your tablescape will be a huge hit for your community. I could see a benefit event where guests would bid for your dinner for themselves and friends....and others might contribute dinners for bidding, too. Congratulations on the wedding in your family! Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
