Tablescapes 2009

Thank you Susan from Between Naps on the Porch" for letting us all come and play with dishes each week. I have had such a wonderful time! However, this week has been just a little crazy for me, so I thought I would share a past tablescape that I have put together. I am a member of P.E.O., a philanthropic and educational organization for women. Each year we raise funds for scholarships for women that need help in getting an education. Our most successful fundraiser has been "Tablescapes". Last summer I put together the idea of a "Cupcake Party". I used my Fiesta, and my everyday tableware. I also used my everyday glasses. I bought enough fabric to make a tablecloth, with the bright colors of my dishes in it. I made the napkins to match out of hot pink fabric. I bought the cookie jar at Smith's, along with the cupcake ceramics. The centerpiece is made up of gift bags from the Dollar Tree, I thought that would be a fun way to have a goodie bag for each guest. The cupcake plates were also from the Dollar Tree.I also put out miniature cupcakes from the bakery. The placecard holders were from "The Rosemary Company" which I found on the internet. The only thing you can't see are the balloons! We have a great group of women in our Chapter. They have such lovely things. Using Tablescapes as a fundraiser has been very successful for us.

  1. I love finding "the perfect fabric' for any project... Your table setting says :celebration!!!
Cupcakes are just the best! My daughter is having cupcakes instead of the traditional wedding cake! There will be a little wedding cake on top and the rest of the tiers will be cupcakes!
    Fun post! ~Maria
