( Sorry this picture is blurry) I tried to enter both the number on the back of the plate and the name, but no luck.
Anyway-these plates reminded me of my Grandmother's everyday dishes. I especially loved the square salad plates.
The entire set consisted of six salad plates, six rimmed soup bowls, six fruit bowls, six cup and saucers, and a gravy boat. The cost-$35.00 for everything. Replacements showed the cup and saucer for $13.99 each. I think that I did pretty well!
I know my table isn't set very well yet, but I'm working on that. It took me awhile to find a cloth that would show the plates off. I know that I need to find a set of silverware that is less modern than the ones I have now. Stemware too!
So-if any of you know about this pattern, I would really appreciate the information. I would also like to find some dinner plates to complete the set. Susan-I love coming to see you every week. I have a great time at your party! Thanks for hosting all of us plate fanatics! Now let's get back to the party!!!
What a great find ... especially as Spring is here. I love thrift store shopping - it's like a treasure hunt everytime you walk through the doors.

Count me as another one who loves the dishes! The raised border and the floral pattern add such interest -- and the square salad plates would have grabbed my attention, too! I look forward to seeing the table all set with this pretty pattern!

Beautiful china pattern...you will be amazed at what you can find at thrift stores, if you take the time to go!
ReplyDeleteWith a buy like that, I think you will be hooked on thrift shopping. My tablescaping hobby has made me into a thrift-a-holic in addition to being a dish-a-holic!
ReplyDeleteYour dishes are very pretty. Nice job!

Love the new dishes. They'll look beautiful with whatever flatware you use. I entered Homer Laughlin, eggshell on eBay search, and it came up with 29 pages of auctions. Evidently there are a lot of different eggshell patterns. I did find one set of embossed dinner plates that might play well with your new dishes. http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Homer-Laughlin-Embossed-Eggshell-Dinner-Plates-/160573746702pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2562f0ee0e#ht_3352wt_1141 Copy and Paste, and I think that you'll be able to check it out. Thank you for sharing your lovely new find. Cherry Kay
